Zamfara Massacre: Buhari Reacts To Mass Murder, Says Perpetrators Will Pay

President Muhammadu Buhari has promised to make the perpetrators of the incessant attacks and killings across Nigeria face full wrath of the law.

He made this known in his reaction to the recent killings in Zamfara State.

No fewer than 30 persons were massacred in Zurmi Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday, February 14.

The incident, according to the police, was as a result of a violent clash among hunters, local vigilantes and the bandits.

In his reaction to the killings, the president also vowed to end the spilling of innocent blood across the country.

He said in a tweet Friday afternoon, “The perpetrators of all of these senseless attacks on innocent and defenceless Nigerians, in all parts of the country, will be made to face the full wrath of the law. We must and will bring the spilling of innocent blood to an end. May the souls of the dead Rest In Peace.”

President Buhari added that he has directed the Minister of Defence to proceed immediately to the state in order to undertake an on-the-spot assessment of the situation there.

“I have directed the Minister of Defence to proceed immediately to Zamfara State to undertake an on-the-spot assessment of the situation there. My deepest condolences to the families of the victims of the Birane Village massacre, and the Government and people of Zamfara,” he said
